"Cromford in Winter"

Cromford in Winter - 15x21 cmCromford lies just to the north of Matlock Bath, on the west bank of the Derwent. This winter view is from Cromford Hill, looking down on the village.

The village is celebrated as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. Richard Arkwright opened his mill here in 1771.

In 2002 the area gained a World Heritage Award.

This is one of three views of Matlock and the surrounding area - the others are Riber Castle and The Temple Hotel.
