The hieroglyph is represented by an arm and hand holding
an offering to the gods. The offering was usually a bowl, said to be
filled with wine, milk or simply cold water. In almost all
representations the upper arm is kept parallel to the body and only the
forearm is extended - exactly as the hieroglyph shows. |
