"A Game of Senet"

Queen Nefertari, favourite queen of Rameses the Great, plays a game of Senet against her unseen opponent, Fate. This ancient board game was used in tomb art to represent the trials that must be overcome before the deceased could attain the afterlife. The Queen holds the Sekhem Sceptre of power in her right hand. The cartouche contains her name; "Nefertari - beloved - of - Mut". Mut was the consort of the god Amun and her symbol, a vulture, is incorporated into Nefertari's head-dress.
